About me

Teams have a lot of ideas to solve problems and my job as a designer is to weigh them up, combine them if necessary and create a solid vision out of these many ideas.

My strenghts as a designer

Allrounder

During my studies and in other projects, I tried out many areas of game design, from level design to narrative design, system design to worldbuilding. Everything was a lot of fun, especially the deep dive into the different areas and gaining different experiences. So I’m not a fixed kind of designer, but I’m very good at getting to grips with a subject area quickly. In doing so, I have many different perspectives on a task.

Interdisciplinary understanding

Through my own solo projects and the different roles in team projects I have developed a deeper understanding of the other disciplines of game development. Because of the fact that I had to code, implement, model 3D characters and animate them, I can now take into consideration the time and effort programmers, artists and sound designers put into their work, which helps me adjust game design better.

About me

Growing up in a family that was very strict about media, I had to fight hard to play computer games. The idea to develop games came to me when I discovered Blender. After creating a snake-like dragon in Blender with the help of a mentor as a year-long project for school, I was asked by a classmate if I would like to develop games with him. This developed into a group called coffe junk studio. During this work, I realized that I find the discipline of game design exciting and decided to study game design at the cologne game lab. For many years now, we have been working on games alongside our studies. For my bachelor thesis, I worked intensively on timers in games and designed the timer for Erasterra as a practical implementation. Since I’m studying in Cologne, I’m giving Blender courses for teenagers twice a year having a lot of fun passing on my enthusiasm for the program to the next generation.

In my free time, I enjoy to make music, watch movies or series, play competitive team games or meet up with friends.
